The PKRF is committed to buying a Rotem Thromboelastogram machine in 2014. This would enable the management of complex bleeding disorders and with a new component that would be able to determine the effect of certain drugs on the platelets of potential kidney transplant recipients. These drugs currently can prevent patients receiving a kidney transplant even though in approximately 20% of cases the drugs are ineffective. This machine would help to detect this 20% group and so allow transplantation. It would also allow the effective treatment of patients on these drugs to enable transplantation.

We are a Registered Company (Tax Reference 64270888) and a Registered Charity (CHY 16613) since 2005.
