CONDITIONS OF ENTRY ARE AS FOLLOWS BELOW:
The 33rd running of The Punchestown Charity Race Saturday 4th May 2024.
A Private Sweepstakes Charity Race with an entry fee of €1,500 per Jockey.
The €1,500 is payable by each rider no later than Friday 26th April 2024
All proceeds to the Punchestown Kidney Research Fund Ltd.
2024 conditions of entry are as follows - Declarations to James Nolan on 086/2349919 – before 8 a.m. Thursday 2nd May 2024.
For 4 year olds and upwards
About 1 Mile and 7 Furlongs
Horses must be returned in training to be eligible.
Weights: 12st
Mares Allowance: 5lbs
Horses must have run at least three times under the Rules of Racing or I.N.H.S. Rules.
ONE OF THESE RUNS MUST HAVE BEEN SINCE 1ST MARCH, 2023.
Point-to-Point Steeplechases excluded.
Penalties to count from 1st January, 2023 : Winner of a *race to carry 3lb extra for each race won - Maximum Penalty 9lbs*
Including any race under any Rules of Racing or Steeplechasing
Horses that require to be led to the start will NOT be permitted to take part.
Blinkers, Visor, Hood, Eyeshield, Eyecover, and Sheepskin Cheek Pieces are NOT permitted.
The mandatory percentage deductions shall not apply to this race. Horses that run in Private Sweepstakes do not lose their eligibility to run in Point-to-Point Races.
Conditions of entry are as follows:
To qualify as a Jockey to participate in this Race you must have an A1 Amateur Jockey’s Licence or you must pass a Charity Race Competency Assessment at R.A.C.E. or the English equivalent.
To qualify as a Jockey to participate in this Race you must have an A1 Amateur Jockey’s Licence or you must pass a Charity Race Competency Assessment at R.A.C.E. or the English equivalent.
Every Jockey must pass a medical using the IHRB approved medical form.
Jockeys cannot have ridden more than one winner in the past 20 years.
It is strictly subject to attaining the above qualification that a Rider’s entry will be accepted.
The winning Owner, Trainer & Jockey will receive a trophy.
Each rider will receive a memento of no intrinsic value.
The groom in charge of the winning horse will receive €100
The groom in charge of the best turned out horse will receive €100
NOT MORE THAN 25 RUNNERS WILL BE PERMITTED TO RUN IN THIS RACE.
In the event of this race being over subscribed the organising committee reserves the right to select the 25 runners and 3 reserves for this race and to accept or reject any Jockey/Horse.
ENTRIES FOR HORSES THAT ARE NOT RETURNED IN TRAINING AT TIME OF CLOSE OF ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
If the Jockey has not paid the €1,500 entry fee by Friday 26th April 2024 they will not be eligible to participate in the Race.
